Learning to breastfeed your newborn baby can be one of the hardest tasks you’ll face as a new mom, but our caring lactation nurses are here to help you. We’re proud that 89 percent of mothers who deliver at BSA choose to breastfeed.
Our specialized team of IBCLC certified lactation nurses provide assistance to new moms at BSA. Even after you get home with your newborn, if you have questions about breastfeeding, our lactation consultants are just a phone call away.
Call our Breastfeeding Hotline at (806) 212-5548.
The lactation team calls all breastfeeding moms after they have gone home to check on the baby and to make sure that nursing is going well. This service offers an excellent opportunity to give additional advice and support to new moms. We want to be your friend and coach in this new endeavor!
We also have a popular Prenatal Breastfeeding Class and a fun Breastfeeding Support Group that you can sign up to attend.
If you have made plans to, or are considering breastfeeding your new baby, this class is for you! You will be instructed in proper techniques and positions. During the session you will be provided with helpful suggestions for successful breastfeeding.

The group is FREE and open to any pregnant or breastfeeding mom. The group is led by lactation consultant Tiffany Bateman, who offers support and expert advice to mothers as they discuss their experiences with the group. We will also have a baby scale, so we can check your baby's weight gain. Support group is a great chance to network with other moms, and it is a great girls' night out! Please bring your baby--we love to see them grow! For questions, call the Breastfeeding Hotline (806) 212-5548.
