Using Technology to Connect with Loved Ones

March 30, 2020

With hospitals and health officials still strongly recommending wearing a mask and social distancing, fighting the coronavirus can be lonely and isolating— but it doesn’t have to be.

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we encourage you to use technology as a bridge across physical distances. The safety and well-being of our patients, visitors and staff is our number one priority, which is why we are continuing to restrict visitation.

We highly encourage using technology to stay in touch with one another during this time. Here are some ways to connect with friends, family and patients instead of an in-person visit.

· Phone call or FaceTime

· Facebook Messenger

· Skype, Zoom or Houseparty

· Social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter

For the safety of our staff, patients and their families, we have implemented the following visitation guidelines every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Non-COVID Patient Visitation

· Labor and Delivery, Neonatal ICU, Pediatrics and the Pediatric ICU may have 2 adult visitors at a time. Visitors for Neonatal ICU must be parents or guardians of the patient.

· All other non-COVID patients may have 1 visitor at a time.

COVID Patient Visitation

· COVID positive and suspected patients may have 1 visitor per day for a 30-minute period. Full PPE must be worn.

· All visitors must be 18 years old or older, pass a health screening, wear a mask and stay in the patient's room for the duration of their visit.

Emergency Room Visitation

All Emergency Room patients may have 1 support person during their visit.
