BSA Advanced Wound Care

BSA Advanced Wound Care

A wound or sore that won’t heal is more than an irritation, it can affect that way you function each day and, in some cases, a wound can be life threatening because of the risk of serious infection. As Amarillo's only wound care facility with three board certified wound care specialists, BSA Advanced Wound Care provides patients with a complete treatment program for chronic, non-healing wounds, which may include a variety of therapies, debridement and education.

The clinic treats wounds associated with a variety of conditions, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • Trauma
  • Non-healing Surgical Sites
  • Immune Disorders
  • Cancer
  • Burns
  • Bites
  • Vascular Disorders

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is one of several advanced treatment options offered by BSA Advanced Wound Care. HBOT allows for an increase in plasma oxygen concentration, which accelerates the wound healing process. In this treatment, a patient breathes 100% oxygen while under pressure in a hyperbaric chamber.

Patients with the following conditions may benefit from HBOT:

  • Diabetes and a wound that is slow to heal
  • Damaged tissue from radiation therapy
  • A skin graft with insufficient blood supply
  • Certain infections of the bone and/or skin
  • Anyone with a wound that has shown no improvement in four weeks
