Overview
The Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency program at BSA Hospital is an ASHP-accredited,
one-year program designed to prepare pharmacists to become well-rounded, confident, and independent
practitioners. Our program offers hands-on training, strong mentorship, and diverse clinical experiences to
help you grow into a leader in patient-centered care.
At BSA, residents gain comprehensive experience in clinical practice, teaching, research, and leadership
within a supportive, high-performing health system. Our program focuses on developing critical pharmacy
practice skills that improve patient outcomes, strengthen decision-making, and prepare residents for
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or PGY2 specialty training.

As a BSA pharmacy resident, you’ll work alongside an interdisciplinary team serving patients across the
Texas Panhandle and tri-state region. You’ll be part of an academic health system providing exposure to both
clinical and teaching environments.

- Participate in didactic and lab instruction
- Serve as a primary preceptor during the second half of the program
Residents are scheduled to staff every other weekend, with one compensatory day off prior to each weekend and one major holiday staffing assignment per year.

Eligibility Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited program by the start of residency
- Eligibility for Texas pharmacist licensure
- Completion of an onsite interview
- Successful completion of post-match background check, physical exam, and drug screen
